Setup and Troubleshooting WMI

must have SiteAgent configured with a Domain Admin.
Must have a BOSSDesk account with rights to view assets.
Must use Active Directory to import assets.
assets must be reachable from the SiteAgent Server (the server should not be in the DMZ).
There must not be a group policy in place disabling WMI on your machines (or the winmgmt service).
if you utilize an internal firewall or Windows Firewall, ensure that port 135 is not blocked.
if you plan to do Software scanning, ensure that Remote Registry is not Disabled by group policy.
Once you have configured your SiteAgent for the first time (see article "First Time Setup"), you will want to test that your WMI is running correctly.
Right click on the SiteAgent icon (in the taskbar) and click Configure.
Step through to the last page of configuration.
Enable CI Scanning.
Set the calendar to scan today, 2 minutes in the future from the current time.
click the green check at the bottom of the screen to load the new calendar.
In the BOSSDesk web portal, navigate to CMDB.
Click the blue "Saved Searches" arrow, and run "CIs with Inventory" and ensure that this list has begun to grow.
For various reasons your WMI scan may fail the first time. If this happens, follow the below steps:
Ensure you can ping the assets you wish to inventory from the server the SiteAgent is hosted on. If you cannot, you will need to take steps to ensure this server is able to connect to your machines.
